Feast of Blessed Frederic Ozanam, founder of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul wrote in 1836
"For the question which disturbs the world around us to-day is not a political question, but a social question – it is the struggle between those who have nothing and those who have too much – it is the violent shock of opulence and of poverty which shakes the earth under it".
Frederic Ozanam envisioned the establishment of a network of charity and social justice encircling the world. Today the SVP is working on behalf of people in poverty in almost every country in the world.
