People often ask "What can I do to help those who struggle to exist in different parts of the world?"  The purpose of the Fairtrade Fortnight is to remind us that buying Fairtrade products throughout the year is an easy and a practical way to ensure that farmer s and food producers in developing countries get a more fair return for their efforts. Buying Fairtrade products not only ensure a better standard of living for the producers  it also ensures sustainable development for whole communities.  A decision to buy Fairtrade products can make a real difference to the lives of men and women and children "Be the change you want" Ghandi .  Buy Fairtrade products every time you shop. Awareness, concern, solidarity and commitment help to make a more just world.  Indifference, ignorance, laziness and selfishness ensure there will be no change for people who struggle to exist. There are many voluntary Fairtrade groups around the country contact Fairtrade Mark Ireland if you wish to find out if there is an active group near you.
